10 January 2021 - Program Committee

 Happy New Year Ladies,

The program committee has decided to forward all four sections of the Starlight Mountain Quilt pattern to all members of the guild through a blast.

Even if you decide not to make the entire quilt, there are two blocks that use the 4 at a time, no waste method for making flying geese which may be new to some of you. There is also a mountain block pattern in the third block. Each block has a coloring sheet to practice making your own color theme. We hope that some of this may be helpful to you.

Each block will go out on a monthly basis. Since there are only four blocks, the last one will go out in April. The patterns will also be available on the website. If you know of members who do not use the internet and have interest in doing this project, please have them call me and I will make sure that they will be mailed directly to them.

We know that many of our members, due to these depressing times, have lost their motivation to sew or do much of anything. The program committee and the Executive board want you to know that we miss being with you and have not forgotten you. Hopefully, this will inspire you to turn that sewing machine back on. Maybe even discuss the project with other members to share unique color ideas. This pattern does not have to look like a mountain or have that Aztec look. It gives you a chance to play.

Have fun,
JoyceP

2 Jan 2021 - Notes from the Prez

I would like to thank: KelleyP, SusanR, JeanneM, MaryL, DebbieS, HeatherD, PamB, AnnE, SarahS for making stockings for Hope House. They loved them.
I would also like to thank: MarilynE, MarieP and JudyC for all the items to stuff the beautiful stockings with. You all went up and beyond the call to take care of these familyies.
Iโ€™m sorry if Iโ€™ve forgotten anyone. If I have please let me know. Also if you would like to see some pictures of the stockings check our website. Carolyn did a great job on the website.
Thank you again.
Love you all,
Shelleyโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Note from CarolynR: You will see photos of stockings from AnnMarieT also.

15 December 2020 (posted 24 December)

Shelley delivered about 30 stockings and lots of goodies to fill them with to the Hope House on December 15th. Jeanne Burns met her at the door. Shelley  had her little red wagon with her and it was so full she had to carrying three additional bags of goodies. Jeanne was very excited about what we did. She started to tear up and was very grateful to the Guild for doing this for the families that are staying there.

WinifredO is looking for a new LLQG Newsletter Editor. The latest newsletter, December 2020/January 2021 has the details.

4 December 2020

Note from Shelley:

Dear LLQG Quilters,
Just a note to let you know what is going on.

We are in need of heart quilts. Unfortunately we have a given out a few this year. But Iโ€™m glad we have them for this reason. If you have a finished top and backing for one, we have people who will quilt them for us. I have plenty of batting.Just give me a call and I will make arrangements to pick up.

Since we are not having our Christmas party this year, please donโ€™t forget to make a donation to the food pantry.

I Love You All Very Much and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
